BIKE RIDE to “1984” Screening Tonight / resisting Fascism in Frederick

Culture is one damn good way to help the cause of fighting fascism.  Tonight, Tuesday April 4th across the nation, theaters both above and underground will be screening “1984.”  Frederick’s underground screening is being organized (and properly agitated) by Gravel & Grind. [they’re also raising some $ for Subversive Zine to publish their 2nd issue, more on that in a moment].

Pharcyde / J Berd & Retro/Ricole on Saturday + Sunday Gravel & Grind Slo Rides

We’ll get to the Pharcyde and great live underground hip hop-ness descending on Frederick soon enough, but originally I wanted to title this: goddamn it! great bands I missed last week. Pittsburg band Yes Yes Yes A Thousand Times Yes played the tiny room at Guidos last Tuesday – and while I was aware of the show, I had to play family man (good alibi, wedding anniversary). Wasn’t until Friday am when I took a real listen to their bandcamp page – that’s when I said outloud: “GODDAMN IT!! THAT was a great band I missed.” Hence this almost-title.
